This wedding... I can still feel something when I talk about it. Emma and Steven's wedding was one of a kind. They are of course madly in love and authentic, much like the rest of my clients! ( Love my couples!) but they wanted something a little different with their wedding.

I said it before and I will say it again, one of my favorite things about them both was during our first coffee meeting, as we discussed the design of their wedding. They shared stories about how they met, what they like and what's important on their big day. They both shared that they are just excited about getting married and want it to be simple but meaningful. They wanted to use local vendors and borrow heirloom pieces from their family so that when people arrive to their wedding they understood that it was more about celebrating their love and joining as a family! I loved that!

Originally my design mind was dreaming up these yummy, big lavish blooms! but again, they stressed the importance of keeping things local and simple. So, I took a different approach, I asked myself "how can we make this event feel like every piece was made with love from the family in a tasteful way?" Here is the Approach we took.

Ceremony: They wanted to get married at a small, quaint little church in the area and their selection of Greenvine Baptist Church was pure perfection! The church just renovated their chapel to reflect the original version of the church when it was first built. Photos don't do it justice, you can just feel the history when you walk in. Decor was minimal as we wanted the church to speak for itself.

The Reception: Emma's family has this wonderful property on the outskirts of Brenham TX. It is surrounded by rolling hills with two large equestrian style barns and the largest array of fresh grown veggies, herbs and flowers grown by her parents. To say they have a green thumb is an understatement. Also on the property is an old farm house that her parents had moved onto the property and had completely renovated. It is such an adorable site to see!

Flowers: We got locally grown flowers from Cuts of Color in La Grange which were freshly cut and picked up just 2 mornings before the wedding. The family assembled them over a home cooked dinner.

Table Top: Emma's mom collected old vintage heirloom vases and table runners. We used several vintage bottles to hold the flowers in. We also placed white linens on the tables to give them a fresh polished look, then added the vintage hemstitch linen runners to give it a more casual, heirloom feeling.

We snipped rosemary straight off her parents garden and garnished each guests vintage china plate with them.

Dessert: For dessert, we had a 1 tiered wedding cake made by Farm to Market produce which is another local vendor in the area, along with that we served homemade pies and of course blue bell ice cream on the side since we are in Brenham, TX.

Guest Favors:

They gave local honey and hot sauce as the guest favors, which were individually packaged by the family. And so much more all at her family farm.

The music was played by an amazing Jazz band that was hand selected by Emma, she is a musician and she even had a special little solo played during the reception by a dear friend with his harmonica!

Food:

Emma's father is English and still has his English accent. So they hired Dine Catering to serve the dinner. It was amazing to say the least! Louise and Mark were an amazing team, they literally did everything from set up, to break down, to serving, bar tending along with a handful of other English servers

The night was full of love, laughter and honestly a happily ever after. It is truly amazing when a couple and their family can see past the tiny little details that we all stress about and focus on the big picture which is that two families are uniting all because two people fell in love!
